The Company

Robert Half are currently working with a multinational engineering firm who are headquartered in Dubai to find them a suitable Group Financial Controller to join their growing organisation.

The Role

  • Directly manage & provide leadership to Finance Managers across the Group (4).
  • To manage the day to day operations of, and provide leadership to, the Group Finance functions.
  • Ensure all Finance Teams complete the necessary accounting, financial administration and financial analysis tasks expected of them.
  • Set the timetable, key deliverables, and priorities for all periodic reporting and month end activities across the Group.
  • Introduce improved financial processes, policies and controls.
  • Manage the progress of the local audit activities and maintain compliance will all local and international statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Directly manage & provide leadership to Finance Managers across the Group (4).
  • Provide indirect management and leadership to the Group Finance team (3).
  • Ensure the local finance teams are clear on priorities & deadlines, especially in a fast-paced, evolving, environment.
  • Manage the Group’s financial reporting obligations, with responsibility for preparation and lodgement of statutory returns (FS, Tax, etc).
  • Build productive working relationships with key stakeholders in order to understand their business operations and the financial information needs of end users.
  • Ensure Finance Managers are aware of their responsibility to maintain accurate local accounts and resolve any issues that are raised.
  • Identify the need for coaching across the finance teams, design and deliver development plans as required.
  • Support team members in setting career objectives and evaluate performance.
  • Assist the CFO in the recruitment of new team members as and when required
  • Oversee finance systems managing transaction flows from source through interfaces to general ledger
  • Maintain accounting controls at all times.
  • Identify bottlenecks in any of the transactional processes and develop and implement solutions.

The Candidate

  • Has worked for the “Big Four” (PwC, EY, KPMG, Deloitte)
  • Financial qualification (i.e., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) or any other relevant certification which is internationally recognised.
  • At least 10 years work experience in Finance for a large multinational organisation.
  • Some of that experience should be in a project or contract-based business.
  • Has held senior Finance Manager or Financial Controller roles covering multiple legal entities across multiple geographies.
  • Is effective delivering constructive feedback and performance reviews.
  • Strong track record of developing and progressing team members.
  • Confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
  • History of developing strong working relationships with key business stakeholders.
  • Ambitious with a desire to progress into a more senior position.
