Transaction Risk Management (TRM) is an integral risk control and management team within GTRF. GTRF’s growth strategy is expected to be largely driven by bespoke structured trade transactions extended to borrowing customers as well as broadening existing base. Nature of such structured solution require strong risk management practices that have ability to review and control risks at various levels.

We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our TRM team within Commercial Banking team, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

In this role, you will:

  • Review structured trade finance proposals by conducting check and challenge from product risk and structural suitability prospective at new money proposal stage as well as restructuring if needed on ad-hoc basis.
  • Articulate if deals are within strike zone for respective products and facilitate discussion to agree on operational controls with stakeholders
  • Assess and Provide endorsement statement post risk assessment clearly articulating risks, mitigating factors, controls to manage risks, articulation of residual risks.
  • Review deals coming up for regional deal review committee approval, organize meeting with stakeholders, facilitate discussion and decision making, publication of minutes of meeting and tracking of action points.
  • Represent TRM in various forum including internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct desktop & physical survey for Receivables finance & certain commodity finance facilities that including conducting buyer due diligence.
  • Propose re-structuring including tightening up of controls wherever needed. Facilitate discussion with stakeholders including business teams to provide relevant feedback.
  • Conduct portfolio review for all structured products, Guarantee book, Trade loans and Sustainable financing on periodic basis along with business heads, country heads of GTRF, GTRF senior members and credit. To articulate portfolio risks including outliers, concentration, trends and forward looking risks.
  • Conduct ad-hoc, thematic review of portfolio based on specific risk concerns emerging out of an external event, internal trigger and specific request from senior stakeholders.
  • Provide oversight on action originated from the risks and following up on implementation.
  • Participate in local, regional, global initiatives and projects as assigned from time to time

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Moderate to advance knowledge of trade finance products especially Structure trade finance
  • Advance level understanding of insurance based limited recourse product offerings
  • Comfortable with data management including collecting, organizing, summarizing big datasets in to understandable business summary for effective discussion and decision making
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills i.e. Comfortable in writing up notes and presenting to peers and senior stakeholders that clearly articulates background, pre-text, proposal, analysis done, action or status
  • Ability to independently drive initiative by taking ownership and demonstrate “can do” attitude
  • Collaborative approach to influence colleagues by active listening, consulting and coaching
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new procedures to support dynamic business environment
  • Graduation degree is a must to secure a UAE Visa and Work Permit
